Knowing your demographics gave me hope that America would make the right decision.

I know what you mean, my friend. I knew that GA would remain red, but I was hoping we could make it at least a little purple. It was not to be, again this time. But at least we WON!!!! WE WON!!!!! Thomas and I are still weeping tears of joy. :)

I literally clung onto Mike and balled like a baby. I saw him fight back a tear or two as well.

Georgia wasn't as close as what was predicted. But hey, Florida went blue. And Virginia. And Nevada. I bet Mick wasn't too happy with that one. My dad too since he probably was backing McCain. Too many of us Californians are now living there! :D

Well Texas went red as predicted. My poor kids. I think they are the only Democrats in east Texas home of the Christian Right where there is a Baptist church on every corner.

I am happy to say El Paso went BLUE as did New Mexico. We really should be part of New Mexico.

Well, I know how you feel Pam. However, GA wasn't quit so red as I at first feared. There is a good swath south of I-20 that is blue and around Atlanta, Athens, and Savannah. The counties just south of us went blue, but my county remained red as red can be.

Yes, it was a shocker that VA turned blue ... I live in one of the pivotal counties where all the political strategists claimed that Obama would need to turn blue in order to win the state. In fact, his last rally was within walking distance from my house! I didn't, go -- I was afraid I would jinx him (LOL!), but you shoulda seen all the cars!!! Pretty amazing stuff. I will say, the 100,000 people that showed up were not all from VA (saw plenty of DC and MD tags), but it still gave you shivers. My friends in the county and I were so excited to be a part of something so major.

This truly is a happy time. I just hope that all those new voters will actually stay involved. If they think the job is done they are much mistaken.
