Let me speak to you of the beauty of an orange...

... fragrant juice escaping down my chin.
Fruit of the Gods, I name you...
Spicy, honeyed, cool, yet bracing...
Enticing, refreshing,
satisfies my yearning.

What can I say? It was a really good orange. Quite tasty.

I'm not a big fan of fruit (as my wife can tell you), but that Orange looks really good. Nice picture!

Mr. Mike is right- unless it is either peaches or pears from a can, it is hard to get him to eat fruit. I think it's too much work for him.

What a juicy orange. Is it a Valencia?

Thank you Mr. Mike. And eat your fruit. It's good for you. :)

Hi Jeannie, thanks. It's a California Navel orange. It was very juicy, sweet and yummy. Just what I was craving at the moment.

Pete isn't real big on fruit either, unless I make it easy for him to eat it. Cut it up, de-seed it, peel it, slice it... whatever is required. I don't mind if he eats it. What makes me mad is when I do the work and then he wastes it. HA!

Me likey mandarin oranges though all oranges I like. The regular oranges I used to cut the skin off (in a big circular motion so the peel was one long string) until I had an accident with a knife.. still have the scars LOL.. So I got into the ones that you can peel right off (mandarin) without the use of a knife.

I much prefer it in juice if given the choice (REAL Juice.. not that concentrated crap..) Hubby and I like fruits (not all mind you) and I ADORE making smoothies with fruits :)

I like the mandarin oranges too. And tangerines. Oh, all sorts of oranges. Navels are my favorite tho. Did you ever do the thing where you cut the peel away from around the stem end and then cut a hole in the orange and poke the knife all around to cut the pulp and then suck the juice out thru the hole? If you do it too much the orange oil will give you a rash, but it's so yummy and fun. Especially when you are a kid. I still do it every once in a while. Just so I don't loose the skill, you see. :)

Omg YES!!!!!! LOL I thought I was the only goofy one :) THough my Dad would get pissed thinking I'm playing with my food.. I'd turn around with my sassy attitude (yes.. was born with it I'm afraid) and I would say "I'm eating aren't I?" roll my eyes and continue to vampire the juice out of the little hole.

We spent most of our time growing up taking care of ourselves. I don't recall ever eating one that way in front of anyone who would have told me to stop. :) Certainly not my uncles, who were the only baby sitters we ever had. When they could be bothered to hang around the house and tend to us. :)

My aunt had a retarded grapefruit tree.. imagine a tree.. with grapefruits within an inch of each other.. with NO LEAVES... none.. it was all grapefruit.. didn't do it every year.. but it was really a strange tree. People driving by would stop and point.. We tried it with various oranges but the tree looked like a real tree would. (this of course in Puerto Rico)

Dad wouldn't yell at me to stop eating.. just stop "playing" with my food :p he was heavily into appearances and felt that having a psycho kid with wierd eating habbits would make HIM look bad.. I swear that's what made me act up every once in a while :p

I don't eat as much fruit as I should, but I do love oranges. Mandarin oranges especially, but I'll take them any way I can get them. I love orange juice the most, especially when it has so much pulp in it you couldn't drink it through a straw!
